Monero wallet
Feather Wallet
A light Monero wallet that connects through Tor and onion nodes.
- License
- BSD-3-Clause
- Onion support
- Supports onion nodes
- Reaches the network
- Only through the gateway's Tor
What it is for
A fast, native Monero wallet. Monero hides senders, receivers and amounts by default, and Feather adds Tor support so the node you use cannot see where you connect from.
- 01Hold and send Monero with keys on your own machine.
- 02Create, restore and open wallets from a seed, keys or a hardware device.
- 03Connect to a remote node instead of syncing the whole chain yourself.
Why it helps your privacy
Private by default
Monero transactions conceal the sender, the receiver and the amount without any extra setting.
Node never sees your IP
Traffic to the remote node goes through Tor, so the operator learns nothing about your location.
Onion nodes
Ombra turns on onion nodes, so the connection can stay inside Tor from end to end.
No bundled services
Feather's own Tor is not used and its third-party data feed is switched off.
Onion services
Supports onion nodes
Feather can reach Monero nodes that are onion services, and Ombra enables that option.
How it is set up in Ombra
- Always over Tor
- Node traffic is set to always use Tor, including the first sync, with the gateway as the proxy.
- Quiet start
- The first-run wizard is skipped, the websocket data feed is off and update notices are hidden.
- Verified build
- The release archive is checked against its signature at build time and pinned by hash.
